I'd say get the black, as seems the majority of the opinions (except for that one weirdo d: that said to get pink)
black's always looked cooler, for practically everything. just wear something on your fingers so you cant smear fingerprints everywhere, and you're golden.
I just got the black lite a couple days ago to go w/ Pokemon (cuz I didn't have one) and I really like it. When I went I was thinking white actually, but the store only had 1 black and about 8 pinks, so I went w/ the black. It is really nice but finger prints as bad as my PS3, but looks super sweet. I highly recommend it. You can just wipe the fingerprints off w/ a shirt to get it all shiny and nice again.

I think everyone should have a Black DS, but that's just me. >.>
White DS is too smexy, plus it matches my Wii. Therefore I would recommend white.

I got a white, and I think they both look great imo. I have a black iPod and a black PSP, so I figured I'd buy a white DS

Right now they are Japan only but there is still a possibility that Nintendo would release it in N.A. if they saw there was a demand for them and depending on how well they sell in Japan.

I, for one, enjoy the white DS more. I don't know why.

I wouldn't even wait until it comes with a DVD player, I mean im sure in a couple years, DVD will end up like VHS, with bluray or hddvd being the main movie discs

Two years would be too soon for the DVD format to head to the 'old technology' with the tape and record players. Regardless of Blu Ray or HD DVD.
