Guitar Hero seems to have been a hot topic recently. Well now, in an interview with IGN, RedOctane's co-founder and president Kai Huang has confirmed that the Wii version of Guitar Hero III will use a guitar peripheral and will contain online elements.
So now you can put those thoughts of using the Wii remote and nunchuk to rest and no more sleepless nights worrying that it wouldn't have online downloads or multiplayer. As Huang said, "We are really excited about the Wii game because there are so many options for the Wii remote. However, you will play the game with a guitar peripheral and it will be similar to a guitar you've seen in the past."

I'm glad that they're going to use the Guitar with it. Some games work better with a Wiimote and some don't. This will be great that we can use the guitar.

Well it has to be wireless because they can't put it through the GC ports and that is the only controller input that is on the Wii....
Unless of course they do it like the 360 and put it through the USB port...
But i doubt that they will do that...

i actually hope it does plug into the wiimote, makes sense to me
Maybe they will have an area on the guitar to attach your wiimote to, so its not dangling all over the place
I honestly hope they have it wired to GameCube ports. That thing would eat through batteries way to fast.
Ah, that makes sense Kindrink. Maybe they should just give us rechargeable batteries and a charging station, or am I in over my head?
