SPOTLIGHT ON: Cooking Mama: Cook Off.
A cooking game. Sounds like great fun right? Well normally you'd be wrong. But the Nintendo DS version of the game got pretty decent reviews. Adding the majesty of the Wii-Remote should make a really excellent game right? Here's my look at Cooking Mama: Cook Off.
The basic premise of this game is to...cook. Seriously if you didn't guess that already then you might want to visit a doctor.

Both sites call the gameplay, predictable and how there's a since of detachment player-to-game. It also seems that the controls can be overly sensitive or not work at all.
short and simple. nothing wrong with that. for future reference, entering some of the info from the review sites adds more depth to the SLO and is more informative. looks good though

My first time posting in any of the spotlights but this is a game that I loved on the DS and want to get for the Wii. It's a simple yet fun game that doesn't take itself too seriously. This game will not give you a great challenge or have you searching frantically for a F.A.Q. to find out how to get to the next level but it is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. I enjoy cooking in real life and this game is almost as fun as that to me. Don't disregard this game because of the graphics or silly name. Try it before you doubt it. Take Wario Ware, great game with great controls but many dismiss it because of the graphics. Give it a try before you judge it.
Way to go Roster!
Short and simple is great!!
Hope you can do some more work in the future!

I actually bought that game, and I must say that it was entertaining . . . for an hour and a half. I didn't waist any time taking it back to Gamestop. I'd say it's a better game for the younger crowd (girls) or the older or non-gamer crowd. I can easily see those types of people getting into a game like cooking mama.

Mana's gonna be miffed since he liked it
Its a good SLO, but not a good game. lawl.

Older? Older... OLDER! What's that supposed to mean. Since I'm older my tastes in games suck? I like probably most of the same games that you do. I don't like this game because I'm older, I liked it because it was different and fun. Games nowadays focus on so many things but they often forget that games are supposed to be fun. This game is not a serious game and doesn't try to be it.
I'm not really angry, I was just kidding so don't take this seriously. Yes, I'm older but wiser! My parents/grandparents used to always say that to me and now it's my turn to say it.
I played this game during Easter, a niece had just bought it, and I played for about 15 min and personally didn't like it. I thought the controls weren't very tight at all. The game would tell me how to do something, I'd do it, but it wouldn't work. The DS version is cool, but I think a little more time should have been spent on the Wii version. I'd give it a 6.0, because every-so-often something worked right and made me smile.
Great review Rooster. Just the way I like them, simple with lots of pics.

I'm talkin like baby boomer old. XD
I rented this game and found it to be mildly entertaining. Found the controls to be difficult at times though when it wouldn't do what i wanted it to. Other than that it is a good game to use when you need to take a break from a bigger game.

I was born in 75... I'm not ancient or anything like that.
I still recommend that you at least rent this game. I enjoyed the DS version a lot but I've heard from this thread and others that the controls are not as tight on the Wii as they are on the DS.
I dont think game could be fun for any age group.
OMG, why all the cooking mama hate!?!? Maybe I like it because I was a chef at one time when I was younger. Again, I have not played the Wii version but if it's as good as the DS version then I'd love it and I know many people (aged from 20 to 30) who also love the DS version and have played mine to death (they're all too cheap to get their own).
