They have.

And it will flop.

I cannot emphasise this enough.

You know what, it's true, you can't emphasise that enough, all game movies are destined to flop, well not all, but most...

Hmmm...sounds good.
but like lemon said....flop
am i the only one who liked Super Mario Brothers the movie, sure it had nothing to do with the series of games...
and Doom... yet another movie based on a game that i liked
and what about Advent Children, based on FFVII, loved it...

if you hold too high of standards on a game based movies of course you'll hate them, i mean sure there are ones that have come out that were just horrible, but still if the people who make games step in and help them with the movies, and pick actors that fit the parts correctly then the movie stands a chance. and if they get directors that know what they are doing and that have GOOD rep for making GOOD movies and not pieces of crap that just passes for a movie, then they should be good.

of course this all banks on that games are looked at more then just games, but an art form like movies themselves. the thing that makes games so great is the factor of interactivity, that you are the one choosing what the main character does, who he kills, what blows up, and how its all done. movies eliminate that, so you just have to enjoy it, sit back and watch...

course this is all just my opinion...
Agreed.
99.9% chance of flopping.
But like AntiFrost said,"enjoy them for what they are".
I mean come on...there has'nt been a comic book/film adaptation that has been 100% right. Sure they have more success...because they are superheroes.
Let us just thank God...Uwe Boll is'nt directing.
exactly...
It will flop.
I'm guessing this will turn out to be similar to the Resident Evil or Doom movies: in no way a filming masterpiece but still relatively entertaining to watch. However sooner or later there ought to be a game-to-movie adaptation that turns some heads don't you think? That is of course if it ever comes out...(where are the Halo, Splinter Cell, and Metroid movies?)
I agree with GlueGun.

This guy has the wisdom of a 600 year old man. He knows the future!
I will still be foolish and go based on the flashy preview.
