A few weeks ago we learned of a viral marketing site at http://www.rev64.com that seemed to hint at a new Tom Clancy game coming from Ubisoft. Today the publisher officially announced the title, Tom Clancy's EndWar, and revealed it is a strategy game in development at Ubisoft Shanghai for release during the company's 2007/2008 fiscal year.

EndWar is a new brand in the Tom Clancy pantheon of games. Directed by strategy veteran and Ubisoft's creative director Michael de Plater, who has worked extensively on the Total War series, the game is set on the battlefield of World War III. De Plater's team is made up of an experienced Tom Clancy crew that has worked on Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, and Splinter Cell games.

Set for release on next-gen consoles (when will they become current-gen?), Ubisoft says EndWar features artificial intelligence, graphics, physics, and animations that were not possible on previous systems.

"Our development teams are invigorated to be creating the first 100 percent next-generation Tom Clancy brand," said Serge Hascoët, chief creative officer at Ubisoft. "Our success with Tom Clancy franchises is unparalleled in the next-generation and Tom Clancy's EndWar will be a marvelous addition to the already critically acclaimed library of games. A strategy game like no other, EndWar will allow gamers to lead their own armies against hundreds of others online in real global locations on the massive battlefields of World War III."

Update: Ubisoft has updated the rev64 site so you now need a password to login. Luckily, we have that password for you: s9p1z6. Enjoy.

The game looks really cool. And it's set in nonexistent WWIII which is cool because it's not the same type of game with a WWII setting. On IGN they had when will the PS3 and others become current gen as a question. To answer that, when they stop making games for the PS2.
omg you guys gotta check this out, follow these instructions carefully: Go to this site http://jsf28555833-80604722.com/ let it load and slightly off centre at the top you'll see a yellow box with 'PASSCODE //' in front of it. Click on the box, type some nonsense into it and hit enter. Do it correctly and you should hear some bloke speaking (make sure you have your speakers on). Once he's finished his spiel, click on the yellow box again and type in s9p1z6 and press enter. You should then hear a female voice talking about an energy crisis - essentially providing background on the game's setting. Wait a short while.

Right, down left on the right you should eventually see two tiny flashing dots that you can click on. Click on these and you'll see the movies. One is of a jet fighter soaring through leaden skies and then releasing a bomb, while the second is shaky news cam-style footage of ground troops. Enjoy.

Tom Clancy's EndWar is an RTS for PS3 and Xbox 360 that's set on the battlefields of WWIII. Ubisoft's not revealed much to date, only promising that it's a "revolutionary war strategy game" that "will push the envelope of technology, showcasing artificial intelligence, graphics, physics and animations that were not possible prior to the launch of the new hardware systems."
