It won't even last until 2008 in my opinion so I think they are way off. Honestly, if Nintendo could not produce enough Wiis to satisfy the demand until 2009 then the PS3 and 360 might as well call it quits. Never gonna happen. End of story.

Sadly enough it seems like I won't be the only one not around for much of the summer! You busy as well?

Yeah, between trying to find some work and different things I'll be gone for a lot, it's also because the computer I normally use is a computer from my school that they loan out for the year, and then take back every Summer to re-image, and upgrade software, so they give it back to us when school starts again. My home computer is old, and it barely does anything without freezing. xD

i got my wii, so i dont really care about shortages.

but if the wii will be in shortage that long, then that means it will eventually over take the xbox360 for most consoles sold! horray!

I really doubt that would happen. I say this console war will be a lot closer than in the past. Nintendo could even take the the top spot though.

Well, when you say "anyone who REALLY REALLY wants one", I'm assuming you mean doing something above simply walking into a store and having them available at any time. If you have to camp out it's still a shortage.

easy (360/PS3 type) purchase of Wiis wont be till '08 at the earliest, IMO

Back on topic, it's a great thing that I was able to get my Wii so early, like at launch.

If you really, really want something then yes you'll do almost anything to get it. However, I believe that before Jan next year that they will have enough so that you can walk into a store near you and get one. I really don't see it lasting that long. Yes, they are selling like mad but it will eventually die down and I'd say another 6 or 7 months should do the trick.

Here, there is a large shortage of Nintendo Wiis. I am thanking God that I purchased my Nintendo Wii on launch. Heh heh heh. Sucks for the fans that don't own one.
