While a lot of people seem to have their own battles with the GameSpy system, I still think it's a step in the right direction for Nintendo online
I can't say what I think of it until I actually get the chance to use it. If friend codes are still involved then >.<. We still have almost a good two months until we find out. Too far away for me to guess.
Yeah, I'm on the same page as Mana.
There isnt really any need to worry, like Mana said we still have two months.

PS2 online used Gamespy, and it wasn't too bad. So I agree, it is a good choice on Nintendo's part (although it would have been better if they had something similar to XBL or PSN...)

I think that this is the step in the right direction...
Even though friend codes are still there, it will be fun...
But, we still do have a while before we actually get to try it...
i agree it is a good choice to go with gamespy . cant wait for wii wifi

Huh? PSN shouldn't even be in the same sentence as Xbox Live. Xbox Live offers tons more than PSN. I do agree with the general statement though, they should just have gamertags for each Wii that's subscribed.

I don't know what we should expect seriously. As I remember one of the guys who works for Red Octane (the guy who is making GH3) said that he was going to have all the same online features of the 360's GH in GH3 and more. So who's to say what the online setups going to be like. As if this guy is telling the truth then that means downloadable content.
I would think being Gamespy and all it would just be lobbies and things for the games without worrying about friend codes, guess you'll just have to find out.
still annoyed because of how far behind in the online category nintendo is :x
there's no need for friend codes on Wii's online. ninty's only thing to back them up is online saftey for younger gamers and crap like that. they seem to be forgetting those parental controls they used. most good online stuff will be T-M anyway and no-one really cares at that point. although the online could definitely improve i don't want an XBL ($60 for a 13month subscription that is constantly having ads streamed through it is FTL, no offense) on my wii and i was finie with the setup for MP:H, although on a stronger platform there should still be more options. PBR won't show off the online for Wii very well. i'm betting it'll be more on par for the pokemans games that just came out, but stuff like ssbb and MP3 (which will be online or there's gonna be a few "accidents" in kyoto. maybe even 1 or 2 in austin.) will really show most of what Wii can do online.
I haven't even heard of this deal... what is it?

Downloadable content is probably going to be on the Wii Shop Channel since its already set up and all. the way you buy stuff for guitar hero on the xbox is through the point system and thats what they are probably going to do on the wii since its the same.

also, about online. its alright i guess. its not like you have to enter some friend codes to play at all online. there is going to be the random games you can join like the DS since its basically the same thing.

I must agree with SolidD...
Nintendo did express some intrest in downloadable content...
So i hope to see some...
Which Guitar Hero is going to be on the Wii, GH1 or GH2?

Nintendo has partnered with Gamespy to provide online play. Meaning that Gamespy provides Servers and deals with most of the online deals like friend codes and such...

But i can't wait for any online games. Personally I'm probably going to buy nearly everyone online game available. I only hope MP3 is online!

I think its GH3 actually... coming out in Nov (I think)

I think it would be too early for it to come out in November, but why would they release a 3 when they can just have GHII with downloadables, so you could download the old game songs, and then the new songs. Toungue

Well, actually the game is said to be coming in fall of 2007....
