If you think about it, we're all very spoiled when it comes to video games. Today's systems give us much more realistic worlds and physicals to play with, and whereas this is good, it also takes something away from the experience.

Remember when you first got your Playstation 1, and you might have popped in a copy of Tekken, Silent Hill, or Final Fantasy 7 and sat there in amazement at what you saw?

I made this thread so that people could share some of the Playstation 1 gaming experiences.
I remember the first time I played Tekken 3. Before that I'd always had copies of Virtua Fighters, starting with 2 on the Sega Saturn. Not only was the game play much faster, but I wasn't restricted by Virtua Fighters (more realistic) fighting style. I found the characters to be much more interesting in Tekken 3, and spent hours kicking my cousin around in the game.

It still sits in it's case, and is not played near as often, but sometimes the younger kids whip it out and thrash each other for a bit.
aaahh yes the ps1, i remember like it was yesterday gettin it for christmas with a copy of ff7 and odd world, i was the happiest kid on the planet, but yeah i remember how excited i used to get when the control would vibrate, i couldnt belive it, as for a memorable gaming experience besides the obvious amazing FF titles, i would have to say that Ehrgeiz, my favorite fighting game of all time, next to Street Fighter of cousre, i just used to love using cloud or zack and bring down a hail of meters on my foes, oh man does this take me back....
I remember getting it only for LOD because all my cousins had it...then playing the Final Fantasies, now I love Playstation..
Ah yes, the PSone. My best game was Gran Turismo 2. memories...
I remember when I first heard of 'Playstation' I was only in like 3rd or 4th grade, and my brother would always go to his friends house and play with his PS1. I always thought that 'playstation' was some kind of like fisher price plastic kitchen set thing... until I realized it was a game system lol.

I never had a gray ps1, but i did buy that tiny white psone, when I was in like 7th grade. i wasnt really into video games at that point in time, but I do remember playing Army men sarges heros which was really fun. I think I still have that game somewhere in my house...
i loved the PSX i had. i loved the 3 original spyro games (all of them since then have been crap. it'd be awesome if they had a lair-type spyro M-rated for the PS3 next year or something. he deserves it. at least one final hoorah before going into a never-ending sleep instead of these crappy kiddies games. even if his games were kiddie when they came out originally, they were still acceptable for the time.) i also liked the gran turismo games even though i was horrible at racing games back then. i also had C&C RA:retaliation that took me forever to figure out how to use the in-game cheats on and i had even more fun once i got my gameshark (i've never owned a system other than my GBA that i didn't eventually buy a GS/ AR for eventually, not because i'm not good at games, but because after a whiile of having to play all my games by myself and being short on cash for new games i need a renewable source for entertainment, and that's what i come up with. the GBA thing might change if ever ninty would give me a good reason to buy a GBmicro because i really want one but with D/ P on my DS now i have no need for my old GBA. what i'd like to see is a copy of a new 2D zelda, mario, or metroid, or even maybe a remake of older ones bundled with a GBmicro, 'cuz those things are sweet.) and i couldn't loose i had even more fun (to this day i still can not play worth a d*** on RTSs. not C&C, not SC, not anything. it sucks, too, because i love 'em to death. especially SC, which i'd love to life, death, and beyond on my wii). i'm also a huge fan of parenthasese (cantcha tell?).
OH man i forgot about spyro... I loved those games. There was 1 for the gamecube as well that was okay, but I agree they series is pretty lame now.
i got the GCN one for $20 a while back. i wish i hadn't. that one was crap.

Ok I gotta know. What is LOD?

Legend of Dragoon perhaps? When I got my PSone I bought about 15 games to go with it but can't remember which one I played first. I actually think it was a Metal Slug game but I love those kinds of games.
I still remember playing Metal Gear Solid on the PS1...that game so rocked.

-----edit

As for Legend of the Dragon...I hadn't heard of that game until just recent. On the PS1, I was more into FF, and some action games.
Yeah, FF series I played off course. Just can't remember what I was playing when I first got it. Now that I think of it I do remember one game that I'm sure you guys didn't see stateside. It was Pepsi Man. No, I'm not kidding. They had 5 remixed of the theme song and they would get stuck in your head. Not stellar gameplay but what do you expect from a game like this. Was fun though.
Pepsi Man? Wow, what exactly did this game involve? Please don't tell me you were delivering soda...Wink
Nope. You're the Pepsi Man superhero and you have to try to reach the Pepsi. It played very similar to a Crash game except with Pepsi Man. They even had one part where the view changes and you are running away from something like when Crash runs away from a boulder or whatnot.

Just for fun I searched and found some screenshots and information about this game for everyone to look/laugh at.
