ADSL 2 up/.5 down with 2 wireless access points (only 2 laptops and 3 PCs with the Wii and DS and a couple of other devices connecting occasionally)

crappy cable from someone called lemonweir vally telephone company. not sure what the download/upload speeds are but i know it's less than 1mb/second for downloading. we also get our TV, phone service, and cellular through them. they suck and i've been trying to find someone better that has service for our area that i might be able to talk my parents into changing to. gots a linksys wireless G router that has 1 wired computer, 2 laptops, and my wii set up on it, so it so that really slows things down too.

I have cable, and connect (well my ps2) up with a wireless router. cox communications is my isp, they are pretty good actually

what does all that Mb/up/down stuff mean? and how do I find it out

And the average download speed i get is about 225 KB/sec if that means anything

thanks everyone, i actually just found out today that i can have a router connected to my tv and that will be fine with the wii while getting free aol with roadrunnes so it turns out great. thanx everyone

To answer Wenis's question...

Kb = Kilobit
KB = Kilobyte (What you see as a download rate when you download)
Mb = Megabit (Only ISPs usually use this measurement)
MB = Megabyte (What I see as a download rate when I download )

a 3 megabit connection is roughly 380KB/sec download. ISPs like to use the abbreviation because people are easily confused and think its 3 Megabyte connection, when its actually a 3 Megabit... which is vastly different. Capitalizing the second letter makes it the next tier of measurement.

As a very very rough quick-measure you can just add or subtract zero's to convert these since they are offset by hundreds. For example if someone advertises a 6 megabit connection you can assume its going to be atleast 600KB/sec download speed. (6Mb is actually 768KB)
