I seriously wonder how they did it... I mean surely the police like investigated the area, and they would have seen if there was anywhere he could have 'gone around' the fence. And if he did then they wouldn't be calling it a ghost car or whatever.

Why not? The police never called it that. It might just be the TV company trying to get some viewers by making it more interesting(obviously it worked, look at us). Perhap the officers were just too lazy to go backing up and driving around some fence into the unpaved woods in the middle of the night? Who knows why?
I'm fairly certain that the car went arond the fence before the section that we saw, while the cops turned later and then stopped at the piece of fence, which we then saw the car through. It's a visual effect that they took advantage of for ratings purposes. Happens all the time.

u look at everything z6j, but if the cops bothered to chase him that far y not go around the fence? if they were lazy i dont think they would have chased him that far in the first place
