Hey guys,
Well, I was one of the people selected to join the Home Beta, and today I finally DL'ed it and booted it up. As we speak my PS3 is loading a video of "football", whatever that is, when I went to the movie theater.
So far it is really cool, I was unable to make the guy look very much like me though, and so far everyone has the same clothing so can't tell us apart. Also, the world is VERY barren, there is almost no one on, right now it has the maximum population listed at 100,000, but only 43 'residents'. It has a games area, and there are screens all over, the issue is that alot of them just show "Downloading Video", but my DSL is not that fast, so that may be why. I haven't really chatted w/ anyone else, but it so far is really nice.
You have your own PSP, get to it by pressing <START>, that does all the options and stuff. The actual graphics are super high quality, and showing up at 720p for me, don't know if it does 1080p though.
I haven't played any games yet, but there are arcade games, bowling, and pool. I'll let you know what these are like. I also don't see a way to purchase things for my house, my house is just lots of empty rooms.
Ask me questions and I will try to answer them, let me know if any of you are in on the beta to join my friends list.
UPDATE:
I played the bowling and pool along with a couple arcade games....so far mildly amusing, but nothing great. Definitely Wii Bowling is infinitely better than this bowling. The arcade games are all pretty mediocre, all original for home, no classics like Pac-Man or anything.
I also have updated my clothing, I'm now busting a "heavenly sword" t-shirt, black beanie, glasses, and some black jeans/shoes.
I was also able to furnish my 'home' and put up some picture frames, sadly I couldn't use my own pictures, had to pick from a list available on there.
-CRASH-
I did have the game crash on me when I tried to bowl the first time, just totally locked up the system, I was able to restart by pressing the power button though, didn't have to unplug it, so thats good at least, and loaded me back right where I was at the bowling alley.
