grass and electric pokemon usually have high sp. attack. as well as psychic, some fire and some water. often a pokemon's type will affect what kind of stats it has.

By the way, those are just the base stats. If properly trained, a good Ninetails could trump an Arceus. Maybe. Blaziken could do it.

An Arceus can be a water, rock, or ground type so Ninetales wouldn't have a chance.

that not a good reason, but venasaur is the grass starter because it has high sp. defenses and it doesnt have a double-weakness like Torterra does.
Torterra just plain outright sucks.
Torterra could beat Venasaur.
at first i liked it because it had the high attack and defense, but i realized its really slow and can be easily wiped out. also being a part ground type causes it to lose its advantage over water attacks.
But being part ground allows it to beat Enperuto/Empoleon >.>
except both pokemon are faster than it is. Infernape can easily trump Torterra in the first turn as well as can Empoleon if it knows Ice Beam. or Blizzard. (i prefer accuracy over the power)

Someone needs to make a REAL "top" <insert # here> list of Pokemans. Legendaries excluded of course.
Maybe put it to a vote and then compile the list based on members' opinions on who is best... Maybe like top 10 out of 20 pokemans voted on? *rambling now* But I guess that would only work if it was possible to have 20 poll options with the voter being able to rank each option...Unless someone took the time to create 20 different polls on each pokeman with the poll options being a number from 1-10......*wanders off rambling incoherently*

Arceus is a event pokemon so it's technically in the game. That's the location you would go if you got the even item from Nintendo.

It's not inaccurate because they take everything into account. It would be great if they did the list minus the Legendaries.
