In what could truly be considered a statistical improbability for Xbox Live, we've made it through more than our fair share of rounds in Catan without any player-related issues. Everyone we've met who makes it through a full game gets a good approval rating and nobody (and we actually mean nobody) has deserved a complaint or negative review. No pre-pubescent screams, no racist/sexist/homophobic statements ... sure, there's expletive dropping -- but it's all in proper context. Is civility actually possible on Xbox Live?

People will instantly argue that Catan brings a different crowd to Xbox Live and given our experience that is absolutely true. And we love it! Catan, combined with Uno (although there are caveats with Uno), shows that there is a different demographic out there in Xbox Live land. Now does this stop the calls for an adults only section for Xbox Live? Not a chance. It would still be nice to play Halo without the ... let's just call it "noise." All we know is if this Catan community is the same that'll be into Carcassonne, then that's money well spent for a nice couple hours of gaming.

Have any of you played this game? Was it like the above? Kinda of interesting that this game doesn't seem to have the problems that other games like Halo have where you run into people that you'd rather not run into or game with. Well, as they said it's a different kind of game so it attracts a different kind of audience.

im somewhat interested. i havent even played the board game nor the demo on xbla. there are some xbla games that you dont even need to communicate. nobody ever speaks in lumines live online vs. i had one person tell me 'gg'. i couldnt respond back since i usually dont use the headset with LL!. it caught me by surprise. ^_^

with halo2, almost every match is filled with derrogatory comments. gears was getting like that just as i had enough of the game. it really sucks. i've had a better experience playing rainbow 6 vegas(currently my favorite 360 game). you do run into a couple of ass hats, but they're quickly shut down or booted. R6V does bring in a more mature group though. i've also played other xbl online-enabled games and theyre not all that bad, but also not every online multiplayer is flooded with idioits. it's just the mega popular games like halo and gears.

catan does seem like a more mature and deeply involving game. it really wouldnt make sense to be screaming racist comments for taking their... land? beside, i really dont think it's fair to compare catan with halo; an xbla game with xbox's mega franchise game? c'mon now. common sense.
Woah, evil post count you got there with the triple 6! Yeah, I've played online games for the PC a lot so I know what you mean. Just wondering if anyone has played this game. It does look interesting.
well, i just got done playing the demo. this game is fun as hell. i only played against bots, but damn, this game is deep. im gonna hold off on buying it right now since i currently got too many games to finish, but i will buy it eventually.
