Never played RE4 here either, but as soon I get my Wii I will pick it up for sure. I have heard stories of the great Gamecube version, and thought about getting the PS2 version a while back since my brother has my Gamecube now, but apparently it sucks compared to the Gamecube version, which will be the Wii version but the Wii version supposedly has the best of both worlds.

R E 4 for Wii is going to be the excact copy from other platforms. No additional gameplay will be included

except for the Wii controls.

RE4:WE is a port of the PS2 version which is a port from the GCN original. the new version on wii will have enhanced wii-specific controls, a true widescreen mode, and all the aditional content from the PS2 version (including the PRL, seperate ways, and easy/ amature difficulties, and with GCN-level graphics, not the lesser PS2 version graphics).

i might pick up a copy, i played it on the GC and really enjoyed the two run throughs i had. I am hopping that they don't screw up the controls like in Call of Duty. and i thought i heard that there is supposed to be some added features, i can be wrong in which case i won't be broken for it. But if you haven't played RE4 its worth a rent atleast when it comes out. This is one of the better ones of the series, in my opinion...

beyond what was new in the PS2 version from the GCN version there's nothing new. it's more or less a Wii port of a GCN port of a PS2 port of a GCN original.

If you look in RE 4 thread you would see that tey suggested that as a possibility.

Capcom's pop-art masterpiece videogame Resident Evil 4 (called Biohazard 4) was released for the Nintendo Wii in Japan on May 31, and for only 3,900 yen. That's pretty cheap! It features new Wii remote aiming, which is sure to make forearms tired in the most awesome way possible.

I'm very tempted to buy this game, myself. Though I have a bit of an ethical problem: it's been weirdly censored. Though the box is plastered with a giant red sticker that proclaims "THIS GAME CONTAINS REALISTIC SCENES OF GRAPHIC VIOLENCE", a great portion of the blood and gore has been excised from the game. Headshots no longer kill, limbs can no longer be shot off. I suppose Capcom is undertaking some kind of social responsibility, trying to keep kids from understanding that shooting someone in the head kills them, though really, am I the only person who finds it kind of ridiculous?

Why hasn't anyone invented a Freeloader disc for the Wii, yet? I'd like to play the American Wii version of RE:4 on my Japanese Wii.

I saw the Famitsu screenshot comparisons when the game was first announced. The Magazines also said that the graphics were slightly touched up and sharpened.

Dude, you haven't even played the game! You should at least play it before you call it crap...
