So far, this is what we know about the Wii's Online Service:
There will be no central interface (XBox Live is central). Instead, the service will be an extention of DS's service - "fast, safe, free"
Interface will depend on the game, and friend codes will be in use.
WiiConnect24: The Wii will stay connected to the service, even when powered down! The console will run virtually silent with ultra low power consumption. Why? You could have content uploaded to you while you sleep. In fact, for all of you Animal Crossing fans, users would visit you and leave gifts!
More details as we get them!
I don't really mind friend codes. I'd just have to find friends from online games or webcomics(VGCats and CAD).

To add to this, WiiLoaded.com is anticipating Friend Codes and Clans and we plan to provide ways to exchange friend codes as well as host clan forums!

I never liked the friend cod thing. It limited the number of players you could play with, and even if you got another person's code, they have to add you, too.
