Hey everyone! I’m here today to help you with your Super Paper Mario Pixl problems. In this guide I’m going to go through all of the Pixls found in the game, the chapters they’re found in, their uses, and much more. Now if you don’t want to know the Pixls found in the game then I suggest you stop reading. But for those of you, who want to know more, read on!
Tippi is the first Pixl you’ll encounter, and the one Pixl who will always be at your side (well usually). Tippi can be used to help provide information about objects and enemies by pointing the Wii-Remote at the screen and clicking on the object or enemy you want information on. She can also reveal secret objects, so if you enter a seemingly empty room, point you’re Wii-Remote at the screen, you may just find a secret waiting for you.
Thoreau is the second Pixl you’ll encounter in your travels. Thoreau can be equipped to grab and throw enemies and certain objects. He’s also good to use to activate ‘!’ switches and ‘!’ blocks, also with Thoreau Mario will be able to pick up enemies much larger then himself like O’Chunks. Speaking of O’Chunks, when you battle O’Chunks throw him around with Thoreau and bounce on his head a few times. It’ll make your encounters with O’Chunks much easier to overcome if you use Thoreau. Also another minor hint would be when fighting the lizard Francis in Chapter 3-4 toss him around and then quickly burn him with Bowser’s flame before he lands (this is not easy though and you may want to try something else.)
Boomer is, of course, the third Pixl you’ll discover (found in Chapter 2-1). As the name and shape of the Pixl would suggest, Boomer is a Pixl that allows you to use bombs. Which come in handy for blasting open walls with cracks in them, blowing up various blocks, and they’re good for hurting certain enemies. Also if you find yourself puzzled as you can’t seem to reach a certain ‘!’ block after trying to with Thoreau, try using a bomb as you may be happily surprised by the outcome. As for the enemies bombs work well on there’s Shlurps which are worm like creatures, who if you place a bomb in front of them will eat it and die as it explodes inside them. Boomer can be used in two ways, you can set Boomer down and wait for him to explode or you can place him down then click 1 to explode him immediately (don’t worry you won’t be harmed by the explosion).
Slim is the fourth Pixl (found in Chapter 2-3) that allows you to flip into 1D which, if you stand still, will make you invisible and invulnerable to enemies. Slim is very useful as if you find you can’t get past something, like lasers, simply stand still and let it pass through you. You’ll be fine! Also Slim has a great talent, stealth attacks, simply stop moving and wait until your enemy has passed you or is in the right position. Then, attack! This is especially useful during the final boss battle, just lie in wait above Mr.L/Dimentio and then attack when the boss is directly underneath you and vulnerable. But really Slim won’t be used a whole lot as he’s only useful if you stand completely still.
Thudley, the fifth Pixl you’ll encounter, of which you’ll find in Chapter 3-2. Thudley is primarily used for slamming columns and larger then normal switches. Thudley is really useful for hurting large enemies, only one problem though; using him is a slow process. So, you’d most likely be better off using a different Pixl like Barry or Cudge when fighting. Leave Thudley for knocking objects off walls and smashing those pillars.
Carrie is quite the useful Pixl (found in Chapter 3-4), you’ll be able to safely cross over spikes and move at a faster pace, especially in space. When in Chapter 4 you should use Carrie while flying through space, Carrie will give you a nice boost and it’ll make navigation much easier. But if you’re looking for faster walking, then you should look for Dashell, but until you get Dashell Carrie will provide slightly faster walking.
Barry is the first optional Pixl that you may encounter. First things first; Barry can be found quite easily, simply defeat Francis in Chapter 3-4 then return to Chapter 3-1 and in a bush right near the beginning of the chapter you’ll find Barry. He’ll join your party and you’ll be able to have these advantages. Barry creates a spinning force field that will protect your character from enemies as well as hurt them. Plus he can easily bounce energy attacks back at enemies, so if you’re finding it hard to dodge certain energy attacks just use Barry.
Fleep is found in chapter 4-2. Fleep is pretty interesting; Fleep is used to reveal certain objects by flipping 2D and flipping objects around you. Now one of Fleep’s most useful talents would be how he can be used to find treasure scattered throughout the game. To find them go to Flamm in Flopside, when you find him you can purchase all the maps available in the game. Once you get a map go to the location that’s indicated on the map and use Fleep to flip the indicated area to find the treasure; but alas it’s not very easy to find the treasures and you’ll probably be unsuccessful a number of times but just keep at it. But that’s not all Fleep is useful for, Fleep has some combat uses as well. If you flip 2D on an opponent they will usually become dizzy and won’t attack for a moment or two. This offers you a great opportunity to strike or run away.
Cudge is a pretty straight forward Pixl. Basically you smash your opponents or big yellow blocks to pieces with a hammer. There’s not much else I can really say about Cudge; although he is very useful in the pit of 100 trials. Remember to use him in there once and awhile. If your wondering when you’ll encounter Cudge though, your going to have to wait quite awhile; you’ll meet him in Chapter 5-2.
Dottie is a pretty cool Pixl of which you’ll encounter in Chapter 5-4. With Dottie you’ll be able to shrink your character to a very, very small size. This can be very useful if you’re low on health and want to avoid enemies, as when you’re as small as Dottie makes you, enemies can’t see you! Plus there are Itty Bits shops that you’ll find throughout the game that can only be accessed by using Dottie. It’s a good idea to check these shops out because they carry items that you can’t find in Flopside or Flipside. But be wary, these shops blend in well with there surroundings, so keep an eye out.
Piccolo, quite the interesting and difficult Pixl to obtain, you can obtain Piccolo after completing Chapter 5. But let me walk you through the many steps.
But now, what’s Piccolo useful for? Well…he makes musical noises that trigger certain events. Piccolo can also cure certain status injuries. But Piccolo is probably the least important Pixl, truly Piccolo is only useful when fighting those three Underchomps in Chapter 7-2’s awesome turn based RPG battle.
Dashell is another optional Pixl that can be found in the pit of 100 trials. To get to the pit of 100 trials you’re going to need Cudge, when you do get Cudge you can access the pit from Flipsides Outskirts B2. You’ll need to hop across some small blocks to a ledge, flip into 3D and enter a secret hallway which will lead you to a switch. Stomp on the switch and it’ll open up a warp pipe to the pit. Once in there you’ll have to get passed 100 rooms filled with enemies (don’t forget to bring some recovery items!). When you get to the end of the trials you’ll battle Wracktail, defeat him and you’ll be able to pick up Dashell. What’s Dashell good for you ask? Well, Dashell will make your playable character run very fast. So if you don’t need another Pixl at one moment simply use Dashell to run to areas quicker, and hey, who doesn’t like going fast!?
Tiptron is the last Pixl you can get; you’ll have to beat the game to get Tiptron. Tiptron is a replica of Tippy as in the end you lose Tippy, s go to Fort Francis in Chapter 3-4 with 999c coins. When you get there Francis will sell you Tiptron for 999 coins, Tiptron basically has every feature of Tippy so you may as well buy it.
Well that wraps up my guide on the Pixls found in Super Paper Mario, I hope it’s helped you out and would love to here your opinion on my Guide. Now, I’m going to go play me some Super Paper Mario!

Piccolo

Piccolo, quite the interesting and difficult Pixl to obtain, you can obtain Piccolo after completing Chapter 5. But let me walk you through the many steps.
-
1. Go and visit Merlee after placing the sixth pure heart in its pillar. Jump over her crystal ball and she’ll tell you about her problems; go ahead and offer to help.
2. Go and visit Merluvlee in Flipside to find out what to do next.
3. Now, go see Bestovious in Chapter 1-1 for yet another job.
4. Alright, now it’s time to visit Watchitt in Chapter 1-2 he will give you a piece of paper.
5. With that piece of paper go visit Merlumia in Chapter 1-4 and get her to sign the paper.
6. Now, it’s time to retrace your steps.
7. In the end you’ll find yourself back with Merluvlee, she will then give you a crystal ball. Go and take this crystal ball to Merlee, she’ll then give you a key to the Random House.
8. After all this go to Flopside and find the Random House, open it up with the key you received and you’ll find yourself Piccolo.
But now, what’s Piccolo useful for? Well…he makes musical noises that trigger certain events. Piccolo can also cure certain status injuries.
