ooooh, imagine the possibilities, i want one

Sony has offered a tantalising glimpse of the television of the future, releasing footage of a foldable screen so thin it could be embedded in clothing.

The screen, which is only 0.3mm thick and can be folded while it plays video, was demonstrated by researchers before a conference in California this week.

In the 27-second video, a lab worker with white gloves is shown manipulating the 6cm (2.5 inch) display while it shows images of bicycle stuntman, a lake and a fish. At one point the display is curled into a tube while the images continue to play, unspoilt.

This is dum...and dont realy like the idea.

Perhaps you don't see the possibilities. You could do so much with this it's ridiculous. Just thinking about mixing it with MS Surface makes me drool with anticipation.

You really have think of what this whole idea could become. I mean, we have LCD and Plasma tvs today that are very thin, but something like this would be so much better. I can't even imagine having a television that could be about the thickness of a piece of cardboard.

I can also see where this could be put into clothing, to literally change the colors that are shown or perhaps display a different logo to a brand every so many seconds.

This is really cool.

This is sweet! I could imagine it on a wall in your house. Taking virtually no space at all. You wouldnt have to worry about smashing it either.

its great technology, hope we see it soon
