We don't know. I doubt it will come to the DS. But, Hell. Who even knows.
Like the 1st reply said, this would be a bit ridiculous on the DS (or the Wii for that matter). The graphics are needed for this game, neither of these gaming machines have the power for it. It's like putting Oblivion on the DS/Wii, bad idea.
Gamespot had an article about this...there is also a retail page on other sites about a supposed Wii version as well...
I think it is a very cool idea, but the reality is that I am not so sure that the DS can handle such a game. I love my DS, but I don't think the game will turn out good on a hand-held.
So yeah I was browsing Nintendo's Press Room and I came upon a list of the games coming out for the Wii and the DS from now till the end of March.
Here's what was really weird: Assassin's Creed is on the list of DS games! What is up with that? Can they really do that to a game like Assassin's Creed?

No wai! Assassin's Creed on DS?!
This has been rumored for a while now.
So this is the confirmation, pretty cool, since i dont have a 360 or PS3 to play the other one.
i just don't see how its going to work...I mean the DS is very underpowered so it can't possibly handle all the free-roaming and cool assassination animations without losing a significant amount of graphical power.
still...maybe the touchscreen controls will make it more awesome.
This was first brought up a while back when someone found out an american store had this game ordered.

I wonder why Ubisoft has yet to announce this game for the DS? Are they trying to hide it or something?
Even so, I suspect It'll get axed.... If they're having troubles fitting it on a DVD....
wow. that would be awesome! im not sure how it would work on the DS though
it will be a 2D (or fake 3D) side scroller much like the starwars games, with mission based lvl's no a fully 3D carve them up that will apear on other platforms.
It would be bad enough trying to port this game to Wii, nevermind the DS!

Yes, as Smokey said, this will be a really half-assed 2D game conversion of a big 3D game, similar to the DS Tomb Raider series *shudders*
It will involve lots of jumping and over-recurring-spike-pits-of-death-in-desert-surroundings-sounds-a-bit-too-much-like-prince -of-persia-also-published-by-ubisoft-cooincidence-much
They made an Assassins Creed on Mobile so it'd probably be a similar sort of game for the DS.
