Turns out it's just one Gamecube! Either that or Capcom is lazy. The evidence to support either conclusion is found in this Gametrailers video, which compares the Gamecube and Wii versions of Resident Evil 4 side-by-side. Major spoiler: they look exactly the same.
The sad part is, we actually don't know if the Wii can do better graphics than the original Resident Evil 4, because nobody has tried. Well, at least this version of RE4 has waggling. And it's not like the graphics were bad on the Cube or anything.

I really don't know what to say for this one. Nobody can be quite sure whether this proves once and for all that Wii's graphics are the same as Gamecube's or is this just a case of Capcom clicking the old Copy/Paste code button for the Wii Edition.

My honest guess for this is the latter. If Nintendo wanted Wii to have the same graphics, they would have more than likely kept the old Flipper GPU from Gamecube. From what we know, the main comparable difference between ATI's new "Hollywood" and their old "Flipper" GPUs is that Hollywood has a higher clock rate. Their are of course other minor differences.
All we can do is wait for a game like Metroid Prime 3: Corruption or Super Mario Galaxy to determine whether the Wii stands alone, or truly is "Two Gamecubes duct-taped together"

Disappointing, lucky the controls are new. But even then, I'll still be renting this game first then I'll probably consider buying it.
It is a little disappointing. Capcom is being too lazy to update the graphics for RE4 Wii.
T.T im just glad i nvr played this game for the GCN becuase i nvr bought that little box of . . . ok any it does make me mad that there just "throwing" it onto the wii
Hopefully they put thought into the Wii controls though.
Meh. I don't care.
RE4's graphics weren't bad, they were great. Plus Capcom has already stressed that this is a basically a port and are selling it for less so I'm not expecting a whole lot other then RE4. :l
Oh hell ya they were good. but we know Wii has a small bit more horsepower thats all
I suppose.
I just want RE4 with new controls. If I get that, I'm going to be one happy camper!
I could see this coming.
And i dont mind those graphics are ace + new wii controls=A very fun game

hasn't any one read the reviews? Resident Evil 4's graphics back on the Gamecube were considered beyond the scope of current-gen hardware...I suppose they could've done a little better job but I guess that's all right...
All I care about are the controls. Graphics comments come after that.
We know that the graphics for the GCN version were great, it would have been nice if Capcom were able to touch them up. Maybe they were too focused on getting the controls right to do that.
This sucks for a lot of resident evil fans.
This sucks for a lot of resident evil fans.
ummm... por que?
Yea, why Cloud. It's not really a total bad thing.
it's not even a bad thing... it's just a neutral "meh"
bad would be if the graphics were worse, maybe, but leaving them untouched is simply that.
the question is how well the wii controls will be mapped. I may have to end up with two copies of RE4...
I'm kinda confused. Didn't we know this all along?? This was simply to be a budget priced PORT from the GC. I thought this was common knowledge. Now everyone is shocked that it looks the same??
Someone was wondering if it's a copy and paste job...well, yeah! It's RE4. It already exists. This isn't Umbrella Chronicles.
Some people had thought it might get a slight upgrade with the Wii enhancements. But we can see it won't.
Also, don't even mention Umbrella Chronicles... I'm disappointed with that game enough as it is.
in all honesty i dont see what the big deal is i mean as long as the graphics are untouched if you liked them in the start why does the fact they didnt touch them up matter? i am expecting the wii controlls though to have an edge over the other ports of the game if it doesnt it really doesnt make it worth anything and ppl will be better off just buying the gamecube copy and playing on thier wii so i guess worse case senario we already know the game is good so wer bying or renting it reguardless of what they change all we have now is a delema on witch one will be better the wii version so long as they dont make the controlls suck will prolly be more popular but if the controlls really suck with the wii mote just play the gamecube versin using the game cube controler
This sucks for a lot of resident evil fans.
Im sure resident evil fans are over the moon. They get umbrella chronicles which is completly origanal. And they get to play one of the best games ever using the wiiremote and nunchuck
I could'nt ask for much more.

Resident Evil 4 managed to get number 2 position in japan. Not bad for a port hey
Exactly and yes, now that I'm playing through RE4 again, you start to realise how great the graphics were, but how terrible the storyline is LOL (Lava, flaming mechanical dragons, come on!)
.....I mean zombies were at least somewhat realistic
