Wii fans hoping to play import games, you have a reason to rejoice: Italian online store You Too has Datel's Wii Freeloaders in stock, purportedly for a June 30 release date. Datel's Freeloader lets consoles ignore region locks, which essentially lets you play any game regardless of its region.
Wii being region-locked has always been a source of disappointment for many a Wii fan who prefers quirky games in his library - many Japanese games are known to be too strange to be published locally in North America.

This may sound stupid but would it break the wii if I play Paper mario or something, you know, like it broke the modded wii's because it had an update thing on the disc.
Just need to know before I plan to buy this product.

^ I live in UK and people with modded wii's have tried playing paper mario, it ran an update and bricked the wii's. Apparently.
I also live in the Uk,but im still to come across anyone with a modded wii,and probably won't for a while. But since this isn't a Mod i should be ok.

I wonder this because i don't think that you can simply change the hardware from a disc. The wii is programed to be region locked so, how would it be possible without a mod???

Its a disc. It installs software on your wii that overwrites the Wii's firmware and enables it to ignore the region coding and just play the game. It won't break your Wii because it isn't a mod.
^ What if Nintendo releases an update? Does that mean the wii with the replacement software won't be able to get it?

I doubt that nintendo would send an update just to not have a region lock...
