i havent heard anything but they should, i mean portable Halo would sell like crazy...
hmmmmm I'm gonna say no, but instead, EVENTUALLY
Yes eventually we might see somethink portable from microsoft. But in my opinion they should stick to just making the consoles...and my opinion is the same with sony.
idk, i like competition, its healthy and ususally leads to better gaming experiences for us (the gamers)
I think Microsoft knows to stay out of the portable race. After all, look what happened to Sony when they tried to take on Nintendo.

I don't see this happening.
Yep, everyone thought Sony would be the first real competition to the gameboy line since Sega's gamegear. Apparently Nintendo agreed and instead of a new gameboy, they created the DS. You can see what happened. Nintendo may have been out for the last couple of seasons in the console market, but portables are their ace in the hole. Sure, eventually Nintendo's portable reign will end, but it may be a while and it's certainly hard to imagine. If anything, MS will push for integrated gaming on existing handhelds with their software, such as PDA and smartphone gaming. MS knows that if they want to take on the big N in portable gaming, they have to reinvent it. Simply rolling out a XBoy will go no where.
i would like to see what Microsoft comes up with i am sure it would be really hight tech but then Nintendo will come out with something better.
I remember seeing a mock-up of a Microsoft handheld that looked awesome but it was only a concept picture from some mag (can't remember). I see Apple hitting the portable gaming market before Microsoft at the moment though. Not saying either will for sure though.
the iphone can probably already play 'some' games, not sure
Yeah, it can or at least it should since the iPOD can.
now if only the DS could make a phone call

*thinks wishfully*

Without confirmed reports of hardware it's too late like it can. Not to mention the lack of an SDK...

Besides, it does have an accelerated GPU, as it uses CoreAnimation, but that doesn't mean it's powerful enough to run OpenGL gaming. I should also mention, not with the lack of an SDK it wont...
