I've done my PC, My iPod and my first Xbox (now replaced)
I dloaded Ubuntu and i'm gonna kill my computer with it. and your iPod? you are so gaey! lol XD
I have not put Linux on anything i own.
was trying to build this old computer from parts (want to spend absolutely $0) to make a linux machine out of it,

so i take this old 8 gig HD, couple 64 mb ram simms, two old cd writers, NIC, pentium 3 motherboard, tower case, etc...

anywho, i get it all together and i keep getting this NTLDR error mssage, which i think means i have BIOS issues, i gave up, will work on it later
^ Good luck with it Big Grin

And no I dont have anything with linux on.

it's a windows issue, your MBR is cooked.
It's easily repairable.

This one time, I put a linux kernel on my toaster, but let's not talk about it now
I heard they put it on some chicken and that's how KFC was born

computer doesnt have a floppy but im looking for one

I've installed Linux on about a million computers including some pretty interesting varieties, a couple PDAs, Xboxs, NDS (not very functional, just for the fun of it), several USB flash drives, *sigh* I can't remember them all off the top of my head right now... I've been using Linux since I was 14 (I'm now 28).

EDIT: Hey, I just realized that's half my life already that I've been using Linux. XD

Assuming you weren't just talking about installing Linux:
All you need to do is pop that 8GB beast of a HDD into any computer already installed with any OS and reformat it. Problem solved.

Now back to the real issue: CHANGE YOUR BOOT PRIORITY! Dude. What were you thinking? Boot from the Linux install CD and just let the Linux installer erase that disk! Two birds with one stone right there! Wink

hmmm, okay, i guess i wasnt thinking, i will try that, n0ob Smile

i had no idea linux had even been around 14 years btw
Yeah It came about the same time as win 3.1

and UNIX has been around since the 60s
I'm downloading ubuntu iso now. I hope you all are happy. I hope I can find all the drivers for it.
Unless you're extremely unlucky, It'll have the drivers already there. The only one I ever have issue with is my belkin wireless dongle. but they've nearly got that one sussed too.
I'm assuming setting up a dual boot is still a very automated process, right? I plan to load it on a couple of fairly new dual core machines (one desktop, one laptop). Are most BT dongles supported as well?
yeah and yeah (at least I think so)
