I still can't believe that you cant see, thats its just one thread, thats doing much better then others, if A Newbie comes in, and just says I win, Or Greets himself there, We greet him back, then go onto another discussion, I don't see whats wrong with that, and most new members are old enough, or Have forum experience to keep up with the discussion, its NOT hard at all.

D4rk, What you said about a newbie feeling exempt or whatever, how excatly would you know? Huh? Right.

Without the thread there, it wont make the site look any active, making tiny threads everywhere, are just gonna flood the OT, but you members could Flood the OT, if you wanted even with the thread there.

I don't think some people are getting the point about how the thread shy'd members away though. I mean sure, alright, they don't HAVE to read it. But does that mean they haven't seen it? Or tried to read it? No.

The prospect of a thread were the 'regulars' go and chat is daunting. I mean if your a newbie and you just want to fit in, it's pretty hard. I mean we all know that not many people hold the newbs in high content, that is until they get involved.

So something like LPTPHW is like the menacing creature that makes them leave, they look around notice that the other threads aren't NEARLY as popular as LPTPHW and wonder why on earth that is? So they leave, they decide that there's gotta be a better site to discuss games then a site run by a thread. I mean come on guys, you have to admit, that thread is pretty dominating, and run by 'the regulars'. I mean how many times have we seen a goomba come in and say "I WIN!" because they thought it actually was a game only to be shuned because everyone know's it isn't. They usually don't come back.

Hey wait...I just realized something...that Off-Topic thread was WAY Off-Topic. XD

EDIT: Cloud in response to your "how would you know" that you said to D4rk. WELL, I was a newb once, and I came at a time when Goomba's were pooring in. When I looked around the forums were going along pretty well, but there was this one forum hat I noticed always had a new post! So I went to check it out, and I found LPTPHW, I looked at it once, thought it may be fun, went in, posted a bit, but couldn't catch on and felt really left out. So I stopped, posted around a bit more, got to know everyone, then went back fro awhile. But eventually I found LPTPHW took up to much of my time on WL, so I left it for ever pretty much, went and posted in other sections because that thing is a MENACE.

Because it was mostly you in there!

And yes it did scare off new members IMHO. The reason is because it's so big and you feel that a newbie can't "fit in" there or be accepted. That's how I feel and anyway I rarely posted there... topic changed too quickly even though I agree it was a good expression topic

Agreed. Sometimes I felt I couldn't relate to what was going on. So I just typed random things.

I usually just wrote "I win"

Well didn't do much better. My last comment was "frosties"

My final conclusion = LPTPHW should stay dead

I'm kinda neutral on whether or not LPTPHW had a bad influence on newbies (they didn't have to read it, after all. >_> ), but I did start posting there like 10 minutes  after I joined. xD

LPTPHW was, well.... A huge spam thread, to say the least. xD
It IS hard for newbies to follow... unless it's at a stage where all posts are just ">_>" or "BANANAS!" etc.

I'm still upset about it, but I'll live.
