The Legend of Zelda series has consistently been a hit with those tough reviewers at Famitsu magazine, and the new Phantom Hourglass continues the tradition and doesn’t disappoint. Famitsu has given the soon-to-be-released game (in Japan) a near-perfect 39/40 score. For those that aren’t familiar with their system, it’s a total of scores from four different reviewers - meaning three of the four gave it a perfect “10.”
For reference, Famitsu had previously given Majora’s Mask a 37/40 score, Twilight Princess a 38/40, A Link to the Past a 39/40, and both Ocarina of Time and The Wind Waker received perfect scores of 40/40.
