Long story short, I was bumming around YouTube when I came across the first ever Yu-Gi-Oh series that was never released here (while looking at YGO abridged stuff) and it really has nothing to do with the card game. The plot was so much better without the cards but the creator sold out and made the card game thing, dropping his original plans entirely. I'm getting kind of off-topic here so; suddenly I had the memories of watching Yu-Gi-Oh come back to me and decided to try and find some Japanese episodes of the card game series. I couldn't find much, but the few I did find were so much better than the dubbed crap I used to watch. I never realised how much stuff they take out when localising anime and how bad the voices are when you compare them to the Japs. The Jap v/o work is incredible. Doing a quick internet search I found that 4Kids actually changed the plot around a bit and left big holes, while ruining other parts. Not to mention constantly removing things like guns (it looks like the characters are just pointing their fingers. OOooo, threatening. -_-), blood, and any sort of violence at all. These things would've made the show so much better.[/ramble]

So the thing I was getting at is, when will these companies that dub animes start to ease up a bit and give us what we want. And I'm having no luck finding subbed YGO episodes, even on YouTube.

Oh, one more thing I forgot to mention. The music in the Japanese original episodes was great and fit in perfectly with the show. That same can't be said about what 4Kids threw in there.

almost every anime gets hacked up into pieces and made to fit into a "nice, clean" version, and i agree that it sucks.

i did, however, find a channel that shows anime in japanese with subs. Encore action, at midnight EST, shows one anime episode, M-F, but i think its just for June... a lot of the ones they show I haven't really heard of before, but they're pretty sweet. and i just know, that if they were to be dubbed and localized, they'd be completely ruined.

Adult Swim is used to be relatively good about showing the best of the worst, but i haven't tuned in lately to see if they're still showing good stuff.

But I just couldn't understand why the music was removed. Does that make it cleaner? Cause the original music was so awesome.

probably. when they change the plot and chop things up, they probly have to change the music to fit better with what they create.

Bleach is decent on adult swim. Lots of Blood and Violence
