Mr.Luben Presents...
A DS review of

Hello everyone! First off, lets talk shooters on the DS. Many times when you hear of one coming to the hand held's of the video game world, you think of suicide... Well, maybe not exactly like that but close enough! Many shooters besides the great and all mighty Metroid Prime Hunters, have pretty much failed miserably and flop right over on the floor. And lets not ever bring up touch the dead... But now, there is Brothers In Arms. A WWII shooter that came to DS and ether had the opportunity to completely dominate or join the club of "DS Shooter Losers! And yes, we have jackets!!". You will find that all out and more in this full review of Brothers In Arms DS!
~Story~
The story is manly the same like every other DS shooter. Sset during many of the major battles of WWII. In this edition of BIA, you go through D-Day, the battle of the Bulge and the capture of the city Tunis. All 3 involve American troops, and is rather engrossing when you get going. There are also multiple save spots with make it great for if you are just hooping into the car for a 10 min ride! But you also get pretty much the same experience if you try to play for hours on in! But over all, the games story is old but fresh almost at the same time. Thankfully, Call of Duty 4 will be moving us out of WWII and into a different time! Thanks god!!
~Graphics~
The DS was basically made for 3 things (In my opinion). 1, to have a "touch generation". 2, to bring 3d into the hand held section of the video game world and 3, to have just some kick butt games that everyone will love! I think that BIA takes best advantage of number 2! The graphics are absolutely beautiful for the DS! Explosions, gun shots, tanks and almost every concept that you could think of for a WWII shooter went into this phenomenal game!
~Gameplay~
If you have ever played Metroid Prime Hunters, then you know about the style of gameplay that this game enables. But there is one diffrence. Its a third person shooter much like Gears of War. Except for some quirks in the controls like getting stuck between a wall and your team mate or not being able to get to the hotspot were you can throw a grenade into a tank the game experience over all is great! Intense fighting and wonderful action. You can also gun and run or take cover. Both work pretty good and are fun.
I sadly can't find anyone to play Death match with anyone... So once i find someone to play with, i will update this review to incorporate that...
Sorry again....
~Music / Audio~
First off, don't expect a great musical score... But do expect a fabulous audio score. For intense, the bullets sounds are great, explosions and tanks have fluent sounds and there is wonderful voice acting. But sadly, the score is gonna hurt from not really have a great score.
~Lasting appeal~
The single player mode is long in a way, but feel short. I blew through it in 2 or 4 days but i played it alot. So its short and long at the same time... In a way... I'm sure that the multiplayer adds to the appeal, but its not single card and not online. So if you find 4 other people with the game, then you are really in luck!
Story - 8.5
Graphics - 9.8
Gameplay - 8.9
Music / Audio - 8
Lasting Appeal - 7
Overall - 9
A great game that is really worth the buy! But i don't feel that it is quite worthy of "Mr.Luben's Choice award" because it still could have been better...
