In another one of those much anticipated updates to the Super Smash Bros. Brawl website it's been confirmed that Princess Zelda will return as a playable character. As they put it, "her movement capabilities are not that good, but her magic adds power to her physical attacks".
Aside from a few new images that's all you're going to get. There's no word on whether or not her alter ego Shiek will be making a return appearance, but I have a feeling they'll keep her around. You can find the rest of the pics at the link below.

They could could easily give Shiek a TP look. Just because Shiek wasn't in TP doesn't mean that she still can't Zelda's transformations.
Zelda was lame. Without Sheik I will see no use for her. But still, this update gives me hope that we'll see other unannounced characters soon.
I own with Sheik! zelda does suck however. Hopefully they make a few changes to her character, otherwise she'll still suck...

sheik is still possible. Sakurai post was ambigous, and kinda hints at Sheik, and they've now release the music for the stage which comes from OoT, the only game with sheik.
Precisely, Zelda seems to be a build based on a combination of Zelda games, so Sheik could appear.
