That is a quote from Tetsuya Nomura, famed developer from Square-Enix who worked on such titles as FF7, FFX and the Kingdom Hearts series.

Nomura also went on to say "It's not just about how pretty the graphics are but more of how much limited [we think he means unlimited] amount of movement we can put in one go and how big our imagination and ideas are."

Clearly Square-Enix has announced its biggest supporter through one of its biggest developers.

News: Square-Enix favours PS3's high-end performance
i think Square just disowned Sony. Smile
Fairly big statements, but I gotta be honest and say that when I read things like the quotes above, I honestly believe that game makers are talking about the added room of Blu Ray disc. The other specs (for the most part) are similar between the PS3 and 360.

If anyone is wondering...The Atari 2600 would be on par with my current amount of imagination.

if you are imagining not selling any games Smile
Why don't we try to comment on the actual source, as to why you believe or don't believe the person being sourced is correct and then give our own personal opinion. Otherwise we just seem unintelligible and biased.
Cease fire untill some games from Square come out for PS3...

Can I help Drew out? The lack of hardware sales on the ps3 leads to a lack of installed consumer base. Lack of consumer base means lower budget as the game won't sell as well (as things stand now). Low budget = not enough hours to program their imagination from electrical impulses in the brain to a machine.

that's not nice drew...
The PS3 has more graphical power, thus letting programmers have more liberty with the graphics of the game.

The reason it isn't selling so well compared to a Wii is that parets are much more likly to buy their children a 250$ console a opposed to a 600$ one.

Games are ot an issue as, in my eyes, the Wii doesn't have any either. Done with TP? What now? The others are just fillers or ports.
(well maybe a few more good games, but not enough for me to want to buy the console)

While that point is definitely noted, I think the buzz that has been generated around the wii with titles like Wii Sports has been the reason the Wii is selling so well. Remember, the GC was $100 cheaper than the Xbox and PS3, and that didn't help their sales. Old people, females, and traditional non-gamers (like my brother) aren't buying the wii because it's cheaper than the competition, they are buying it because of the motion controls. This is along the same lines as people who won't play a gaming console, yet will play Golden Tee or Super Strike in bars. The ease of pick up and play has sold this console, along with word of mouth.

As far as games go, yeah, no console has had a phenominal launch. At least the Wii had TP, at least it had a fun assortment of game collections and ports. I'd rank the wii's launch and subsequent 6 months as among one of the best. If Mario, Metroid and Smash all get released before years end (along with all the thrid party games), it will be undoubtedly one of the best first years for any console.

One thing you need to realize is that this a Wii based forum. Your bound to run into a lot of blind Wii praise and sony/micro criticism.

The fact that its sold out everyware also makes the average consumer believe it is a better product. (Smart move by Nintendo for keeping them in low quantities)

And don't tell me price isn't a factor. if it was 600$ like the PS3 I think it wouldn't be selling that well :p

The fact that Nintendo is targeting the non-gammign crowd and completely ignoring the gamming community troubles me.
If they continue like this all the "hard-core" gamers will turn to the PS and/or XBox. The Wii is heading towards the road of a secondary console imo.

But we're sorta getting off topic, this is about PS3 :p
there are plenty of hardcore titles coming to the Wii. You just have to be patient! All consoles get a slow start as developers develop more games.

wow, this title is getting so off topic

They've shipped more than double the consoles the PS3 has, it's in better supply than the PS3, it's just that the Wii is selling more.
