It's been almost 7 whole months since Ubisoft put up a job posting, looking for people interested in
continuing the Red Steel project. Well today, at an event in Cannes, Ubisoft confirmed that a sequel to Red Steel would be coming to Wii. Ubisoft is allegedly looking to improving the controls and completely reworking the sword fighting, which was very bare and disappointing in the original. It was at first rumoured that online play would be included while later reports said that online multiplayer was also confirmed by Ubisoft. Then again, back in November when Ubisoft put up their job listing they asked that applicants be experienced in "le jeu de ligne", which roughly translates to "online gaming".
So, that should be it, right? Well Ubisoft apparently isn't ready to break the news to those who were not present at the event in Cannes. Ubisoft denies that any sequel to Red Steel is being developed, saying that there has been no official confirmation of the game being in development. Well, with Ubi's own job posting saying that they would fill the Red Steel positions by the end of December of last year, I think it's safe to say that the game's been in development for quite some time. Maybe they're holding out until E3, hoping to surprise us with something we already knew about. So when the time comes, just humour them and try your best to act shocked.

Hmmm... Interesting. I liked the first Red Steel even though it had numerous glitches, I'm looking forward to this one. Online play wouldn't be bad either. I'm sure Ubisoft is doing this to stun the crowds at this year's E3. Either that, or perhaps they would just announce a release date without any mention of the game beforehand. Even though that is highly unlikely because not many will want to buy it before playing it first unless they really liked the first installment, it's still a slight possibility.
I think I only that Ubisoft will have two Wii games at E3, they may later announce that this will be there as well.
Ew. Red Steel 2, it would have to improve vastly on Red Steel 1 and even then it might only be an okay game. Because Red Steel 1 was pure junk.
Because Red Steel 1 was pure junk.
>:U
It wasn't that bad. But really, they have no where to go but up with that game. It could get worse, but there's no way that'll happen.
And you can't ignore the fact that it sold over a million copies. So regardless of the scores RS 2 gets, if it sells well, Ubisoft will make another sequel.
It was terrible.
Annoying controls, boring story, unimpressive visuals.
I won't even rent it, if the first was bad, the second shouldn't be any better.
Annoying controls, boring story, unimpressive visuals.
Controls were fine for me.
Story sucked, and I even laughed at a few points. Not to mention the ending. Dear God I hated the ending.
I didn't really notice the graphics much. Once you're pulled into a game, you forget about the graphics altogether. I do remember that the explosions were nice.
And the sword fighting was REALLY disapointing. If they'd made them work well then the game could've remdeemed itself a bit.
But like I've said before, the game was really buggy, glitchy, rushed, and unfinished, but I still found it fairly enjoyable.
Im probably one of the only people that still play Redsteel
If you look past the glitches and dumbass story its still a fun game, I specifically enjoy the multiplayer.
Redsteel 2 shall be a blast!

Cool, I actually like Red Steel, I mean it was buggy and glitchy, a funny story, but honestly the game was fun. I enjoyed playing it.
hey ninty-wii ur not alone....i play redsteal alot too lol. its fun.
