Full Version: There must've been a dramatic change in Twilight Princess' design...

Back in January last year (2006) Nintendo Power spoke to Yoshiyuki Oyama who was working on the game. He had this to say.

Quote:
On a related subject, Yoshiyuki told the publication that he feels previous Zelda outings served up a cast of enemies that were too easily defeated. In contrast, he said that the enemies and bosses in Twilight Princess will be much more challenging, which should be music to the ears of some seasoned gamers.

As anyone who's beat or mostly beaten Twilight Princess knows, that's a load of... bollocks. The bosses were laughably easy.

So then what happened to this difficult build of Twilight Princess that I would've loved to have seen?

there was a dramatic change. Half way through Miyamoto thought it wasn't good enough and made some changes...
Nintendo must have gotten scared it wouldn't be well received so took what they thought was the easier option and made it like OOT.

Either that or that think its hard because they really REALLY suck at games.
Apparently there was an easier way to beat Ganon in the final battle.

During the final fight with Ganon in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, take out your weakest weapon, the fishing rod. It has a particular effect on Ganon: when you throw the rod out, Ganon stares mindlessly at it, obsessed with the juicy worm hanging on the hook. When you pull back the rod, Ganon continues to stare into space, giving you a perfect opportunity to score a few hits. This is a cheap and easy solution to an otherwise difficult boss fight. Maybe Ganon could become a pro fisherman when he retires from being an evil lunatic

And here is the response from the NP Staff:

We gave it a shot, and it worked. Time to recall all those Player's Guides we slaved over. Thanks for nothing, Videogamerat.

^ ya, i read that in my NP and i was gonna try it but thats when i found that my TP disc doesn't work....

But other wise, thats lame-O

lol thats funny i tried it it was RETARTED!

>.> Well I hope theres a BIG change in the next Wii Zelda!
I really hope the next wii zelda doesn't get delayed
Well either way we wont be seeing it for a few years.
I really hope this doesn't all have to do with Miyamoto's plan to appeal to the non-gamer, because whether they like it or not, Zelda is and always will be a hardcore gamer game. Trying to adapt it for another audience will only hurt thr series. Please don't screw up the next Zelda, Nintendo.
If they did do something as dumb as that. Your sword will become a twig, and your sheild will be a pillow. And the bosses will become so easy that if you touch them they auto die. Smile

And Ganon will wear a dress. Toungue
