That sneaky Nintendo. In a recent press release for Phantom Hourglass they mentioned that Metroid Prime 3 Corruption will be released August 27th. We all thought that the game was going to be released August 20th, but those sneaky Nintendo Employees quietly moved the release date back one week. Here’s an excerpt from the release.
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass follows hot on the heels of another classic Nintendo franchise with amazing new controls. Metroid® Prime 3: Corruption, the third installment of the hit trilogy, launches with motion-sensitive controls exclusively on Wii™ on Aug. 27.
Why they would delay the game only one week and make the announcement in a Phantom Hourglass press release God only knows. Perhaps they're preparing for a worldwide release of the game? I know that would make a lot of people very happy, but really, couldn't they have just done that on the 20th as well? Well at least it’s still coming in August, right? To be brutally honest, it’s been one slow news week.

the one week delay could possibly mean that they are also releasing major titles a little bit later than they wanted.

lol. And if Nintendo does their regular North American to Australian release date conversions then this one week delay will mean that it has been pushed back to 2009 in Australia.

They can't change anything worth changing in just one week. So my best guess is just that Sakurai Iwata prefers the 27th over the 20th for some reason.
lol. Sakurai isnt making Metroid...Retro Studios is.
Sakurai is from HAL Laboratory, same developer who make the kirby games.
