Well, it's official. There are very few intelligent Wii owners left in North America. Since its May 29 launch Mario Party 8 for the Nintendo Wii has sold over half a million copies. The question I find myself asking is, how?
Please people. Stop buying these games. It's nothing but a cash grab from Nintendo. If you have it, fine. You now have a Mario Party with Wii controls so don't go buying the next one that we all know is coming. I don't want to be here years later talking about Mario Party 29.

My uncle got it for me on launch day for my birthday. I was hoping that it would be as good as the first 3, but none will compare to those. I agree that it should stop now.

I think the sales of Mario Party 8 just show how desperate Nintendo Wii owners are for what they'd consider decent games. We've had some mediocre turds since launch, and people always expect Nintendo's own games to shine. How hard do you have to polish a turd before it shines? Scientist have discovered that it takes 2 minutes before you actually get down to the Mario Party 8 case.
I don't have a problem with Mario Party 8, I just think Nintendo could have made a LOT better game.

Nintendo is not going to stop making Mario Party games and people aren't going to stop buying them. It's just a fact that there are kids who adore those games and adults who think that it's perfect for there kids.
Plus if it makes so much it would be a retarded decision for Nintendo to stop making them.

That's true, but I have patience. I'm waiting for Metroid, Brawl, Galaxy, and Guitar Hero.
I wouldn't have bought it if it weren't the first Mario Party using the Wiimote. I find it very boring and a lot of it has to do with luck and not skill. Not my kind of game, though I love minigames. Maybe I'll just play the minigames from now on and leave the board part out of it all together. Also, the candy Aeon-like actions get very repetitive as well. Congrats Nintendo but nothing more I can say.
