Sega corporate director Masanao Maeda spoke to Reuters today about a few topics. From a needed price cut in the PS3 to Wii's success. While on the Wii topic he couldn't help but mention the Sega and Nintendo love child that will be Mario and Sonic at the Olympics. He mentioned that he expects the game to sell very well. So well in fact that he predicts sales of "several million units, rivaling such big name titles as Microsoft Corp.'s "Halo 3".
Now I don't know about you guys but I'm not really all that excited for for this game and I really don't think it will sell as much as they're expecting. Unless Nintendo and Sega create something incredibly ground breaking I don't think it will even sell a million units. And then to compare it to Halo 3 really puts them in hot water. Is there anyone out there who really thinks this title will be able to rival Halo's sales?

not realy there makeing it to fast.... but if the had MARIO VS SONIC like a fighting game it would sell out
I think they'll sell well at first, but only to fans of both genres.
You never know, the future is open for pretty much any possibility, but to say it will sell as much as Halo? Eh, we'll see.

I doubt it will sell more than Halo, just like I doubt it will sell more than Metroid Prime 3.
If it's only a bunch of olympic game match-up's with no story backing it, then the game will sure enough be a stinking pile of ass. Next thing you know we're gonna have a Super Paper Sonic

YeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaNO. The ONLY place I can see this game outselling Halo 3 is in Japan, and only because the 360 aint so hot down there. But in North America? Heh. They'd have better luck trying to outsell the Coca-Cola Company with a makeshift lemonade stand outside of a ten year old's home in the middle of Kansas.
The ONLY reason I'd buy this game is if someone gave me a $50 gift card to Target. They're always out of the GOOD video games...
