A Resident Evil 4 Wii-make?
Posted by: Kindrik  - 03-29-2007 10:49 AM - Replies (40)
UPDATE: GameStop has removed the listing for Resident Evil 4 from it's website. Maybe they let the cat out of the bag too quickly?

A reader with a sharp eye over at Go Nintendo has spotted a Wii version of Resident Evil 4 up at GameStop.com.

Seems like Capcom forgot to tell the rest of us this was coming, but then again, simply because a retailer lists an item for sale on it's website, doesn't mean they've got all their facts straight.

Unless Capcom adds some new features and improves on the visuals (as much as humanly possible) it's going to take more than just tacked on Wii controls to get me to buy this when I've got a GameCube copy of the game which plays perfectly on my Wii.

But can we get off the ports, please? As great a game as RE 4 is, there have just been far too many titles ported over to Wii with new control layouts. Since Capcom is also working on Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles perhaps the team working on the RE 4 remake will take some pointers from the Umbrella Chronicles team as far as controlling with the Wii remote goes. Umbrella Chronicles will be using the same over the shoulder aiming system introduced in Resident Evil 4 so I'm sure that team already has a method of how to use the Wii remote and nunchuk to the best of it's abilities.
