I think at least almost everyone here must have played Tetris at some point or time in their life, and if not, where have you been all these years? Now some people like Tetris more then others, I for one don't really love it or hate it, just Tetris to me. But I know some people who absolutely love Tetris, and if you're one of those people, then this news might be something you'd be quite interested in!
A study in the UK was just recently undertaken where scientists would take volunteers and expose them to disturbing images. After showing them these disturbing images they allowed some of them to play Tetris, when playing the game they noted that stress-levels where significantly reduced and they received less flashbacks and reoccurrences of the images they previously viewed. While the people kept seeing the images and having flashbacks of them...why would you volunteer for this anyways?
Of course, the real question here is, was it really Tetris that lowered their stress levels or was it just the fact that they had a diversion to help them forget the images? Well, if that’s not the truth and Tetris really does help relieve stress then now you’ve got an excuse to play it! What do you guys think about this? Do you think it really does reduce stress?
