Miis didn't influence avatars
Posted by: Foxy  - 08-04-2008 04:58 PM - Replies (8)

At E3 Microsoft revealed a new identity system known as avatars but the problem is people are saying that the idea is strikingly similar to Nintendo's Miis! Well John Schappert thinks they are just the natural development of the 360s online service, Live.

"It'd be remiss to say that we don't enjoy playing on the other systems and we have a lot of respect for the work that Miyamoto-san and Nintendo do," remarked Schappert, warming up for a "but," "but I think it's a logical extension of our Gamercard, Gamertag and Achievements."

It's an obvious kind of comment to publicly make as we obviously have no proof how much they were influenced but with Miyamoto feeling 'flattered' by the avatars we can't really see how Nintendo feel about all this after the whole Microsoft and Soft investing in future motion control devices...
