As the release date creeps closer, more details about New Super Mario Bros. Wii is slowly being let out. It comes from a Q&A section in the Official Nintendo Magazine (ONM) from the UK.
First of all, the game is mentioned to be around six hours in length. And that is only when you are rushing through, it does not include the extra time needed to look for Star Coins. In terms of difficulty, the game is said to be much harder than New Super Mario Bros. DS, and instead is considered to be on par with Super Mario World.
The level design does not change when going from single player to multi-player, which could be a concerning point when it comes to the trickier moments where a stage is best suited for only one player.
The game also features a 'Coin Battle' mini-game mode, and as the name suggests players will be competing for the most coins. In terms of levels, so far we know it will feature World 1-2 from the original Super Mario Bros. and the arcade stage from Mario Bros.
One final detail, drums are added to the music when you are riding Yoshi. Nostalgia wins again.
