With the Wii’s thrilling success, you would think that Nintendo has a bright future of original things planned for it. Well that is just the biggest lie you can speak.
In a recent interview published in the Wall Street Journal, Satoru Iwata said that they have exhausted all of their original ideas for the Wi and are unsure of the extent of their ongoing development for the console.
Apperantly part of the Wii World Domination has been planned out from the beginning when Miyamoto proposed the idea of the Wii. Iwata says, "Wii Music completes what Miyamoto wrote in his proposal when he came up with the idea for the Wii. He was saying that he needs to think up more ideas now.”
They also have a word on accessories. "Most of the ideas for accessories that we had initially come up with are out now. We might think up some more, and we might make them if we do, but we don't have any plans to release a whole lot more."
This means for the mean time that we will have to rely on third-party publishers for accessories, which haven’t been that generous to the Wii in the first place.
With all this information here in this article and the news of the Wii 2 in production, does this mean that Nintendo is investing too much time for things in the future, casting aside the necessities of now?
