Over the weekend IGN pulled back the curtain on a new original IP for Wii from High Voltage Software called The Conduit. While the game still seems to be very early on in its development with only a video of the game's engine and minor details regarding its story the response from the Wii audience has been phenomenal with people asking for more information and almost demanding that someone publish the title.
Well it seems that since it's exposure on IGN and how quickly the news spread around the internet publishers have taken notice and High Voltage has informed Matt Casamassina that no less than 10 publishers have contacted the company about publishing the game for Wii. There no longer seems to be any doubt as to whether or not the game will make it to store shelves and only a matter of when this will happen.
While it is far too early to proclaim this game as Nintendo's answer to Call of Duty or Halo it is certainly a welcome M-rated sight where most third party games seem to consist of the Carnival Games variety. Hopefully The Conduit will not follow the same path as Red Steel which rode a tidal wave of hype up until launch only to fail to deliver in the end.
