It's no secret that people in PAL regions usually get the short end of the video game release date stick and every so often North Americans are presented with it. When Nintendo made the unfortunate decision to keep Wii region locked it brought with it an explosion in the use of mod chips to play imported software. Datel has now offered a solution in the form of its Wii FreeLoader.
Datel's previous GameCube FreeLoader became a popular product on Nintendo's also region locked GameCube. The FreeLoader is a safer and less expensive alternative to the hardware Wii modding currently available. Considering that the FreeLoader requires you to make no modifications to your Wii console it will not void your warranty. Datel is currently selling the Wii FreeLoader for $19.99 in the US and £9.99 in the UK.
