According to well known analyst, Michael Pachter, Nintendo will manage to sell a massive 4 million copies of the recent title Wii Fit; and that's just in the US. He has predicted that they will sell this amount this year, with the help of a record breaking $40 million marketing budget. Talking directly to the New York Post, the analyst said, "Wii Fit will sell 3 million to 4 million in the US if they market aggressively."
The analyst is well known for his predictions, but can Wii Fit really pull off reaching these high sales numbers? According to the NPD Group, only three games managed to hit the three million mark in the US in 2007, with one of them being a Wii exclusive title. These were Halo 3 (4.8 million copies), Wii Play (4.1 million copies), and Call of Duty 4 (3 million copies).
Pachter also stated that someone had informed him that Wii Fit will be getting the biggest marketing launch in Nintendo's history, with the budget being as high as $40 million. The game has already sold 1.5 million copies since its release in Japan; and with the title soon being released on April 25th in Europe and May 19th in the US, those sales are sure to sky rocket soon.
