Those of you who couldn't wait any longer to get your hands on the upcoming title, Mario Kart Wii, may have pre-ordered the Japanese version. Well, if you did, it looks like your lack of patience could have just cost you around £35. The website Play-Asia recently sent messages to those who have ordered their copy to be imported from their site. The message reads: "We received the first small delivery today for testing and unfortunately we have to inform you that the game is not compatible with the Datel Freeloader (US and PAL Version)."
However, a reader of the site NintendoWiiFanboy stated that this isn't true, as his imported copy of Mario Kart Wii has been working fine on his console. But bear in mind, we are still waiting to find out which version he imported. Still, I doubt Play-Asia are going to lie about something like that, as this would just result in them losing out on sales. So for now, the statement remains a rumor. But if I were you, I'd rather just wait until Friday (if you are a PAL gamer) or until April 27th (US gamers) to avoid any havoc in case this turns out to be more than just a possibility. Let's just hope that the Datel Freeloader isn't already outdated.
