While Arc System Works’ Japan is being graced with the portable version of Aksys Game's BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger Portable on January twenty-fifth, Aksys Games, the team behind the localization of the styled 2D fighter, has announced that North America will be getting their version in March of this year.
What will this portable version feature? Essentially, it's the same, full BlazBlue that you have on the consoles, just with a few new features while looking less pretty. What are the new features? For starters, all twelve characters will be given an Unlimited mode, along with an all-new 'Legion mode' which is a strategy game of sorts where you build a team and take over a map and an in-game store - using in-game currency - to purchase art and the previously mentioned Unlimited characters. Let's not forget that the multiplayer is supported via the Ad-Hoc mode.
Of course, concerning how detailed the port is, Michael Manzanares, the project lead, assures us, “Every frame of animation and hit box is painstakingly replicated from the original game, so all of your combos work without a hitch. It’s really nice when you need your BB fix on the go, and new Unlimited versions of your favourite characters don’t hurt, either.”
So how about you fighting game fans? Will you sacrifice your stick to have BlazBlue on the go? Or would you rather save your money for the upcoming BlazBlue: Continuum Shift?
