The usual applies here, take all rumour comments with a truckload salt. Having got that standard fare out of the way, this comes from 2chan. It appears that potential Zelda Wii details may have leaked onto the popular image board, which has been right on the money in the past. However, these things are never really known until a final announcement is made by the company in question. In this case, its Nintendo and the likelihood of them speaking is little to none at this point.
We warn you again to be cautious when taking the following information on board, but here is what information appeared on 2chan (as spotted and translated by an IGN board member):
- The game will avoid the standard dungeon-field-dungeon-field style of gameplay.
- You will have the ability to choose whether you are left or right handed, and Link will change accordingly.
- Basic mechanics and gameplay elements have been completed and they are focusing on story, dungeon design and character development. One such is an innkeeper who has a son who looks up to Link.
- The girl in the picture is not the Master Sword and as it stands there are no plans for Link to obtain the Master Sword in the game so far. Her name may be Adelle, Adella or Aderu. She also will not be a Midna/Navi type of character and will not be with you all through the game.
- Link's main weapon is a sword with different unlockable abilities through which Aderu will communicate with you.
- Horseback combat returns, as well as a more intelligent horse (possibly Epona though unknown) with a more astute ability to avoid obstacles.
- Character models for Link, Gorons and Epona have all been touched up for the game, but that is all so far. (Possibly new models for Zelda and Ganon, or neither will appear)
- Possibility of time travel making a return to the game.
- The game will not be set in Hyrule.
- The Link in this game will be the "Hero of Time" Link from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.
Remember that salt, people. You may very well need it. It should be known that 2chan has been accurate in the past. Leaking every Kingdom Hearts title, Metal Gear Solid 4, Resident Evil 4/5, as well as the story details of Wind Waker back in 2003 (two months before it was revealed).
It will be an eager wait til E3 when Nintendo is set to uncover the next mysterious Zelda installment. But now with these new unconfirmed (and very possibly false) details, the wait is set to be even more difficult.
