Recently we reported that a whole game's worth of content had been dropped from Final Fantasy XIII. Now there are rumour's surfacing that DLC could be on its way. At least, it could possibly be on its way. In a rumoured interview with the latest issue of the Official Playstation Magazine, Yoshinori Kitase comments on the situation.
In the interview he is asked if the Western versions will differ from the Japanese version. To which his response is, "at first we had plans to release the game simultaneously worldwide, so we had the intention to deliver identical version between the regions. When we noticed that we wouldn't make it, we decided to release the game as fast as possible in the west after its release in Japan. We initially had doubts to add extra content to the western version but then it would have taken the international version more months of delay. We did prepare a DLC but it will arrive a little later in the west."
However, there is also a conflicting report (and quote) that apparently comes from an Ultima Guide for the soon to be released title. In this version he comments saying that they are not currently planning to release any DLC.
Now, either Kitase is throwing up the ultimate smokescreen or one of these two sources are incorrect. At this stage its difficult to tell, but we'll be sure to update you when it is confirmed either way.
