After sixteen years it seems like Sega finally realized the truth behind the saying "Don't fix what's not broken", and we couldn't be happier for the blue rodent. I'm sure even those who've come to think of Sonic as a joke cannot help but feel a little excited about the upcoming episodic games. Much like Megaman, Sonic will be reverting to it's old-school play style, but graphics on the other hand, will keep up with the times.
The teaser above gives the first episode a release date of Summer 2010, but after poking around the game's official site you'll notice a more specific date of July 2010. You'll also notice that it'll be coming to PSN, XBLA, and WiiWare, and will also feature motion control for the PS3 and Wii; (Sixaxis for the former.) It's also hinting at another platform release which this reporter can only guess as iPhone.
Lets just hope this is indeed his return to glory, and that we won't be hurt by Sega anymore. I don't think the Sonic fans will survive if this becomes a let-down; think of the casualties!
