Red Steel was one of the most hyped up games of the Wii's launch and it seems only fitting, whether you like the game or not, that a sequel to it is on the way. Hopefully Ubisoft will take their time with the project and will be able to work out some of the negative aspects that seemed to plague Red Steel.
The guys over at NintenDomaine, a french Nintendo fan site, recently discovered that Ubisoft is looking for someone to fill a Senior Game Designer position for "the continuation of the Red Steel Project".
I'm glad I know French, and you should be too. Here's the translation from Ubisoft's website.
Ubisoft's Paris Production Studio is looking for a Game Designer for the continuation of the Red Steel project. You will assist in the game design:
in managment of the ergonomic design
in menu design
in the creation of the game's manual
setting the game's difficulty levels
in prototypes with the director and the lead-level Designer.
We ask for:
Experience with RPG and adventure games.
Experience in "le jeu en ligne" (had no idea how to get that into English. Could be RTS or online)
Someone energetic, able to defend and question decisions made, listens to others and is sociable.
Being well cultured and having an artistic developed direction would be even better.
The job will be filled by December of 2006 in Paris France.
Ubisoft is also looking for an artist to work on Red Steel and Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter to help with 2D decor and ambiance work on the Wii.
The most intresting thing mentioned however is that they want someone with RPG experience. This doesn't mean that Ubisoft will go in a completely new direction and make the series an RPG but it makes you wonder.
